Visit Great Western Beach
Great Western Beach, in the heart of Newquay is reached by a steep slope from nearby Cliff Road. Sheltered by high cliffs which shade the bay in the afternoon, and very popular with surfers.
Access is via a steep winding path by the 3-star Great Western Hotel. At low tide walk along the wide expanse of golden sand as the beach joins up with Towan and Tolcarne beach.
The 3 star family-run Trebarwith Hotel has private access to Great Western Beach.
There are lifeguards on patrol from May until September
This beach is dog friendly all year round.
