Backing the beach is the marine lake (Cold Knap Lake), a peaceful spot, stroll around feed the birds. The promenade area is wide and easily accessible and the surrounding gardens and park areas are well-maintained and ideal for picnics and leisurely walks.

Take a walk along the beach to cliffs to the western side, or head the other way to Knap Hill and the lifeguard station, passed the old pool.

This is also a popular sea fishing beach, and you will see people with their rods along the seafront.

There is parking on the seafront, and public toilets as well.
