Newton Bay

Visit Newton Bay

Newton Bay beach (also known as Black Rock beach) is just to the east of Porthcawl. This lovely sand and rock beach has a family friendly holiday park at one end and wide open spaces of the nature reserve at the other.

From Newton village it is a fabullous walk through the dunes.

There are no facilities on this beach, however neighbouring Trecco Bay Holiday Park has children’s entertainment and amusements.

On the beach front, is the Newton Lifeguard Club and volunteer lifeguards on patrol, during the busy season. Look out for the flag!

This beach is a popular spot for watersports, including jet skiing and windsurfing.

Take a walk eastwards along the beach or through the dunes and you will get to Merthyr Mawr.

Newton beach is dog friendly all year round.

There is a pay and display car park on Beach Road and Bay View Road. If you drive a little bit further down Beach Road there is also a free carpark.
