Goring Beach, in Goring-by-Sea, West Sussex, is a lovely stretch of coastline that embodies the classic charm of a British seaside destination.

The beach has a long expanse of pebbles and shingle, which is interspersed with wooden groynes that mark the high tide line. Beyond the pebbles, you’ll find a flat sandy area that becomes visible at low tide, making it a great spot for beachgoers to enjoy.

Lining the beach are pretty white beach huts with colorful roofs. These traditional wooden huts add to the atmosphere and character of the area.

Goring beach maintains a more tranquil atmosphere, avoiding the typical amusement arcades and commercial developments. Instead, you’ll often see fishing boats pulled up on the beach, reflecting the area’s maritime heritage and people strolling along the seafront.

Behind the beach, you’ll find the Greensward, a large grassy area that’s ideal for picnics or playing games. It’s a great spot to relax with friends and family.

The long stretch of sand and pebbles, perfect for leisurely walks or just lounging in the sun. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you might want to try your hand at kitesurfing or paddleboarding.

Goring Beach is an excellent destination for watersports, offering a variety of activities that cater to different skill levels. Kite surfing is one of the most popular activities at Goring Beach, attracting both beginners and advanced surfers. The beach’s conditions, including high tide and relatively calm waters, provide an ideal environment for kitesurfing.

Windsurfing and sailing are also common, with local centres offering equipment and lessons for those looking to get started or improve their skills.

There is a car park close to the sea front and the Sea Lane seaside cafe for breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Goring Beach is dog-friendly, but there are some restrictions. From October 1 to April 30, dogs are allowed to roam freely across the entire beach. However, during the peak season from May 1 to September 30, dogs are only permitted in a designated area near the Sea Lane Café.
