Visit East Head Beach
Great for nature lovers and long walks, enjoy an afternoon walking along the sand dunes at East Head Beach in West Sussex. A sand dune spit, just along from West Wittering, at the mouth of Chichester harbour. The spit is connected to the mainland by ‘The Hinge’ as it is known locally.
Lovely soft sand and a haven for wildlife. East Head is home to diverse wildlife, including skylarks, ringed plovers, and seals. The area is particularly popular for birdwatching, especially during the winter months when migratory birds visit. It is designated as both a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Ramsar site.
Dogs are allowed on East Head Beach, but there are restrictions in place during the peak season (from May to September).
