Visit Formby Beach
Formby beach in Merseyside on the Sefton coast, offers miles of unspoilt coastline with an abundance of bird and plant life. This natural wide sandy beach is backed by grassy dunes and pine woodland.
At Formby Beach, you’ll experience a blend of wild dunes and long stretches of huge sand flats. You’ll have plenty of space to relax, unwind and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. While swimming is only recommended at high tide when lifeguards are on duty, the beach offers miles of unspoiled coastline to explore, filled with a diverse range of bird and plant life.
Surrounded by ancient coastal pinewoods, the area is home to a variety of British wildlife, including the rare Natterjack toad and sand lizards.
Look out for the famous neolithic footprints and stone age past that reveal themselves in the sand.
The beach is dog-friendly and well-behaved dogs are also allowed to join you as you wander across the beach and through the woods.
