Lowestoft North Beach

Visit Lowestoft North Beach

Lowestoft North Beach on the Suffolk coast is a wonderful spot of a day out. North Beach is located north of Claremont Pier and features a mix of sand and shingle, backed by sand dunes. It is a quieter area, popular for bird watching and dog walking.

Similar to South Beach, North Beach has a promenade with beach kiosks and cafes nearby. However, it is less commercialised and offers a more natural environment. Accessible facilities are available, including public toilets, and it also has a lifeguard patrol during the summer months.

There is a carpark right by the beach off Links Road.

For nature lovers, there is a lovely walk north towards Gunton Dene.

Cycle the sea front promenade to Ness Point, which is the most easterly point in the UK. This route is part of the North Sea Cycle Network, and accessible for all age groups.

This beach has restrictions for dogs around the Pavilion and town beach. They are prohibited on North Beach from May to September, but it is generally more accommodating for dog walkers outside of this period
