Visit Scott’s Bay
Scott’s Bay beach is a hidden gem near the lovely village of Llansteffan in Carmarthenshire. Located on the western side of the River Towy (Tywi) Estuary. The bay is part of the scenic landscape that includes views of the estuary, it is a beautiful spot to enjoy both the beach and the surrounding natural beauty
This charming beach is tucked away just a short walk from the more well-known Llansteffan Beach, offering a more tranquil and secluded experience.
It is sheltered, sandy, and sprinkled with tiny cockle shells, with unique geological features in the red siltstone rocks. A small stream flows onto the beach by Scott’s house.
At high tide Scott’s bay is safe for paddling about, bearing in mind is is an estaury, so not to swim out too far.
If you’re at Scott’s Bay, St. Anthony’s Well is definitely worth a visit! This historical site, rich in local folklore, is believed to have healing properties and is located just a short walk from the beach.
Or, walk the coastal path up to the ruins of the 12th century Llansteffan Castle for panoramic views. There are lovely walks, with benches placed along the route to sit and take in the surroundings.
Scott’s Bay is dog friendly all year round and along the Wales Coast Path, so there is lots of space to roam.
