One of the four main beaches in St Ives, Porthmeor Beach is a popular holiday destination for families during the summer.

The golden expanses of sand makes the perfect spot for day out and families with small children can enjoy excellent water quality and safe swimming, as there is a full lifeguard service during the summer. For refreshments the Porthmeor Beach Café, which is located on the beach front serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with snacks and drinks available to take away.

The beach is also popular with surfers particularly during the winter months when the waves are larger.

Did you Know? Behind the beach is ‘The Tate St Ives’which oped in opened in 1993.

There is lots to see and do in St Ives. The iconic Tate St Ives gallery which overlooks the beach, has modern and contemporary art exhibitions and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden is nearby. There are plenty of shops, pubs and trendy cafes within walking distance of the beach.
