Blue Flag Award winning Tynemouth Longsands offers an alternative to the well-known surf destinations of Cornwall and Devon. Tynemouth has attracted professional surfers and fans to the area as host of the British National Surfing Championship.

This beach is dog friendly with restrictions from May 1 to September 30, with designated areas toward the northern end of Tynemouth Longsands, towards Cullercoats.
