Brightlingsea Beach on the River Colne in Essex is an area rich in maritime history, where traditional industries included fishing and shipbuilding.

Today, Brightlingsea is a popular location for sailing and yachting and hosts international sailing events.

The sandy beach is close to Batemans Tower, along the Western Promenade. There are amenities and beach huts along the beachfront, and nature trails to go walking and exploring the area.

Did you Know? Brightlingsea is the only Cinque Port outside Kent and Sussex.

Brightlingsea beach is dog friendly between 1 October and 30 April each year with Summer restrictions.
